After leaving Sunnydale, because he fears that his passion for red-hot vampire slayer Buffy will destroy them both, Angel (David Boreanaz) sets up shop in the modern day Sodom of Los Angeles, California. In an attempt to expunge his bloody and unspeakable sins of the last few centuries, he opens a detective agency with the help from terminal Valley Girl Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), in order to help the city's disenfranchised from being victimized by the monsters, both human and supernatural, that stalk the streets.
