Biography

Vincent Leonard Price, Jr. was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 27, 1911. His father, Vincent Sr. was the president of the National Candy Company and Vincent Jr. was given the nickname that became the family joke, "The Candy Kid." Vincent was the youngest of four children. The eldest, Harriet, was born in 1897, his brother James was born in 1899 and his sister LauraLouise was born in 1904. Known to be the King of Horror, Price's first movie was a screwball comedy entitled Service de Luxe. He wanted to be a comedian (and if you see some of his comedies it's obvious that he could've been one). But, after the release of House of Wax and five years later The Fly, Price relented and became one of the greatest horror actors of the genre. Price finally passed away on October 25, 1993 from lung cancer and Parkinson's disease. He has been and always will be greatly missed.
