I was just on the Misfits website and apparently they are doing a concert in New York with Joey and Marky of the Ramones as special guests. I've been fortunate enough to have seen both the Ramones and the Misfits live, but together on the same stage at the same time?! This is awsome, to bad I live in Ohio. Man, if I were more motivated I would drive to NY to see them, this is destined to be an awsome punk rock moment.

I've had the pleasure of seeing the Danzigless Misfitz a few years ago. They were good and actually had a "spooky" show. And what more can you say about any show having Joey and Marky of the Ramones on stage??
But the "current" Misfit band is in grave trouble. I'm sure you may have heard but in case you didn't Michale Graves and Dr. Chud both walked off stage, MID-SHOW and quit the band. Leaving Jerry Only to o vocals. (good to some, bad to most) And the show your speaking about has an opening band called Candiria who's drummer will eventually fill end with the 'fits.
Basically, watching these guys is good, but even during the show I saw, it was kinda hard seeing Michale Graves sing the lyrics Glenn Danzig was sooo passionate about. But now that you ONLY have the 2 "original" guitarist, is it really the Misfits anymore, or a cover band???
Getting Joey and Marky will obviously sell more tickets, espcially in NY, but how long can these guys play shows singing and making money off the "old" stuff and not their new albums. It'd be one thing if they still carried the show playing THEIR new and current albums, but 90% of the show is "danzig" songs.
----------------------------------------
FYI, if your a Glenn Danzig fan. (actually I'm not a big "Danzig fan", like 3 of his albums. But REALLY LOVE the Misfits and Samhain) Glenn's latest tour was filled with several "SAMHAIN" reunions. I'm not exactly sure what that was, but I think some of the band's line up returned for a series of shows and the show was 95% SAMHAIN!!! Rereleasing all of SAMHAIN's albums in the new box set, sparked Glenn's thoughts. He said he plans on doing a very SHORT tour next year as a SAMHAIN reunion. That'd be awesome!!!! Can you imagine hearing "Halloween", "Die, Die My Darling", "She", "Bullet" etc... from the mouth of Glenn?!?!??
sorry so long

I heard the guy from Candiria was going to be the new drummer and I've also heard the new singer is going to be Zolli from Ensign. He sang with them at some concerts after Chud and Graves left and I guess now he may be a permanent fixture. I haven't heard him sing any of their songs yet and I'm curious to hear what he sounds like. I've kind of lost interest in the new Misfits, I didn't like Famous Monsters all that much and maybe it's a good thing Graves left. I'm really a Danzig era Misfits fan and if he does do a reunion with Samhain I will be there if the tour comes anywhere near me, which it probably won't.

Did I just warp into last year?!?! DANZIG already did an EERIE VONless SAMHAIN reunion when he toured to promote DANZIG 6:66 SATAN'S CHILD!! The line up was GLENN DANZIG on vocals (DUH!), TODD YOUTH on guitar (who was never part of the original SAMHAIN) & LONDON MAY/STEVE ZING switched mid-show on bass & drums! There was talk of two SAMHAIN make up shows, one in NEW YORK & the other in SAN FRANCISCO which were cancelled earlier, but now that GLENN & company are in the studio recording DANZIG 7 there is little chance of any further SAMHAIN reunions. Although interestingly enough STEVE ZING & LONDON MAY just finished working on a new project entitled SON OF SAM which also features DANZIG's current guitarist (TODD YOUTH) & DAVEY HAVOK (from AFI) with special guests including GLENN DANZIG & DANZIG's current drummer (JOEY C.) & bassist (HOWIE PYRO) as well as others, I believe RANCID's TIM ARMSTRONG was another guest! The SON OF SAM album is due out next year, as well as DANZIG 7...now since TODD YOUTH is in both bands it wouldn't be far off to think that GLENN would let SON OF SAM open for DANZIG on a tour, which would mean of course that former SAMHAINers STEVE ZING & LONDON MAY would be along for the ride!!! So some surprise SAMHAIN material could be thrown into an encore!! But that's just my take on it! As far as THE MISFITS w/JOEY & MARKY that would freaking rule, damn why was I born in the midwest?!?! IGNITE has gone on record as saying that ZOLI will not be the new singer for THE MISFITS, his commitment lies with IGNITE which is just getting some major attention!!! As far as RENFIELD goes I haven't heard an official announcement but I believe THE MISFITS are holding open auditions for both positions, then again they did that back in 1995 while the whole time already having MIKE GRAVES!!
