On my hunt through the vid store I cam across a bix box Night of the Zombies and above that on the box it stated Battallions of the Living Dead. Plot looked like some WW2 soldiers that had been gassed and reanimated. Is this the NOTZ that is any good? Was tempted to rent but I found 5 others I wanted to see more.
Thanks for any help

NO!!!! Stay away from that dreck unless you want to see if its possible for a human to die of boredom! The good NOTZ is the Italian film directed by Bruno Mattei (aka Vincent Dawn). That film is very cheesy but loads of creepy fun. Its about a swat team in new guinea that stumbles across (duh) zombies! The WWII nazi zombie flick of the same name is directed by Joel Reed (of Bloodsucking Freaks fame) and is absolute garbage. Avoid it!

Yeah, even though Bruno Mattei did make a piece of cheese, it WAS worth it for the curiosity sake.

Even though the film had more stock footage than an Irwin Allen TV series, I think a better title would have been, given the type of footage used, "Night Of National Geographic".

It did have it's moments, though.

There was one cool part where the kid is eating his father inside the truck, after he comes to life in his arms, very disturbing.

The other cool scene is where the cat crawls out of the old ladie's body as she comes to life YUCK!!!

Mommie, where's kitty cat?

I just rented the Italian one and, personally, I wouldn't even bother with that one, but to each his own, I guess. I think I fast forwarded through most of the film except the two aforementioned scenes, the scene with the naked woman "communicating" with the tribesmen (purely because she was naked), and the scene at the very end with the eyeballs popping out. Other than that I found it pretty boring.

Yeah, it did rate a 10 on the boring scale, but what can ya' say about a part where a cat jumps out of an old ladies' chest cavity before she comes back to life?

It had it's moments, and you're right about the eyeballs too.

The last time I saw something that disturbing was on "OZ" on HBO where the guard had his eyes gouged out and came running into the office with two hollow bloody sockets where his eyes used to be.

THAT freaked me out. I never forgot it.

As for the naked chick, hey, I ain't complaining.... my wife might, though. (lol).

See ya' soon
