Hi there again!! Hey, I found out this weekend that my local vid rental has an old copy of "Beyond the Door" for sale for $3. In your opinion, would it be worth buying? It would probably be the only way I could see it cause I live in a small town with a limited selection of horror titles. I know $3 isn't much, but I really don't like buying movies I'm only gonna watch once. It's more a space issue than anything else. I was wondering because the box looks pretty cheesy, like it was released at the dawn of the vhs revolution. But I also mknow that you can't always judge a book by it's cover. So, whaddaya think?

Hey man!

Definitely check it out for the shock and gross-out value!

Although the one you're buying is the American release, and NOT the uncut European version called "The Devil Within Her".

The uncut version is floating around somewhere in some of the movie catalogs

It is a scary film though, and was one of the few "Exorcist" rip-offs to actually make a buck or two or three.

Heavy on Euro-atmosphere, with very gritty photography and low-level lighting, that makes the possession scenes quite chilling.

It may seem tame by today's standards 25 years after it's release in 1975, but don't underestimate it.

After all, everyone laughed at George Romero when he made Night Of The Living Dead, but little did they know what was in store for them.........

Leave a light or two on when ya' see this one.

Peace,
Shawn

Buddy c'mon! $3 is what you'd pay to rent it, so $3 to buy it is a VERY good deal. Bad movie or not it's a rare film (just recently Anchor Bay re-released it). How can you go wrong with a measly $3? Just my opinion.
