I don't think its Peter Jackson's best film, but it was very good considering it's about a young girl getting raped and murdered. Little more artsy fartsy than I was expecting but it made me want to cry a couple of times. An inappropriate couple sitting behind me in the theater snickered through the whole thing, even in the sad parts.
It's still weird to see Jackson's stuff from this decade and think that it was made by the same guy who made Bad Taste. I thought The Lovely Bones was alright, but it had that abridged story feel that I get sometimes when a film is adapted from a book. I didn't read the book, so I don't know what was missing, I could just sense it.
