I don't scare easily and I'm looking for a really really scary book. Like, I mean really scary. Like mind altering scary. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Well, you've more than likely read these already, but the two books that scared me the most (I don't scare easily either) are King's "The Shining" and "Salem's Lot". Neither of these are at all like their celluloid namesakes and, though Stephen King is considered the "master of horror", these are the only two books of his I find frightening at all. Trust me, read these books late at night, all alone, with just enough lighting to read by and you'll be sneaking glances over your shoulder to see what that noise in the kitchen was.
H.P. Lovecraft's "The Shadow Over Innsmouth", "The Colour Out of Space", and "The Whisperer in the Darkness" are also good for some late-night reading!
