After a long time away I hit the used book store today. I came away with Cipher by Kathe Koja and Blood and Water by Patrick McGrath. I know people on this board recommended McGrath, so I picked up his short story collection. They also had Spider and Asylum by him, but I figured I'd read these first and then see what the other two were like. Did I make the right decision or should I run back and scoop those two up? Oh, I also got Daddy's Girl by Daniel Ransom. Cheesy cover, but I'm a Gorman fan.

I've never read McGrath' short stories but would recommend that you run back and pick up both Spider and Asylum.

I have Asylum right here in hardcover and am going to read it somewhat soon. Especially since Stephen King is supposedly adapting it for the screen. I liked Spyder, but I really, REALLY liked McGrath's The Grotesque. That one was fantastic. It was made into a good film starring Sting. In America, the film title for Asylum was Grave Indiscretion.

Well, I haven't read any of those books. I am meaning on reading THE ASYLUM before the movie comes out but right now my TBR list is just towering over me.

I had just visited my local used book store today, in hope of finding something by Jack Ketchum, preferably The Girl Next Door. No luck! But I did buy something there that i had remembered being talked highly about on this board, and that is James Herbert's "The Fog." When I saw it, I thought of you guys, and I also bought J.H.'s "The Dark." Thanks, I am sure I will get much pleasure out of them.
