I guess if I'm going to be here a while, I should use my "nom de news", Pegleg. Oh well, what's in a name? That which, er, ah never mind.

Has anyone read:
Jack Yeovil (=Kim Newman)
Simon Lawrence (=R. Karl Largent)
Joe Donnelly
Joseph Citro

I should also probably introduce myself. I like the gory/grusome stuff, starting when I read The Cellar and Off Season back around 1980 or 81. Also, Shoot, by Douglas Fairbairn. But I just couldn't find anymore like those. So I stopped reading for awhile. "Ed Lee" must have been in kindergarten then....

I plan to develop a horror site called The 3 Faces of Horror, dedicated to Laymon, Lee and Ketchum. My current personal pages have loads of horror links (if anyone wants to browse) but they are just a list--no graphics yet. I also do proofreading, but have no interest in writing horror. Wish I could but I'm just not "in touch with" my inner self enough to explore it, etc. etc.

I visited here long ago (1999!), but must have missed these great discussions. I'm glad to be back "home again." Which reminds me, I have thought of doing a Bob Vila-type show where, each week, I would do some haunted house sort of thing: this week we're going to add a hidden stairway....

Welcome Back Bob!

Laymon, Ketchum, and Lee. Three of my personal favorites although I have not read as much Lee as I have Ketchum and Laymon. I can't wait to visit your site.

I have read Kim Newman's short stories but that's it. No novels yet.

Shoot, by Douglas Fairbairn

Loved this one too, Bob, uh... I mean Pegleg. Didn't care much for the movie, though.

I've read Jack Yeovil. It's Kim Newman in a wild mood! The DARK FUTURE books I wouldn't have traded for anything in the world. I've also got his Warhammer fantasy "Drachenfels" which has lots of goodies for us horror fans by the look of it. I really envy you that you got the "Blood Parasites" novel. I'm looking for "Genevieve Undead" a book of three linked novellas with the vampire heroine that has a role in "Drachenfels." She's also in Kim Newman's novel "Anno Dracula" Like Sonja Blue she's a very cool and sexy lady who knows how to sock it to fiends and foes alike if the need arise.

I had the pleasure doing some emailing with John Pelan when I was at their site to order "City Fishing" by Steve Rasnic Tem. And as the dedicated fan knows John Pelan is the second half of the undisputed tagteam of hardcore horror. The other being Ed Lee, of course. I've ordered "Shifters" plus John Pelan's solo project "An Antique Vintage." This latter is a fusion of the classic Jamesian ghost story with hardcore horror.

Damn, "Splatterspunk: The Micah Hays Stories" is out of print and he didn't have any spare copies. Sad

Fenny, I've seen Splatterspunk for sale on Ebay quite a bit. It shouldn't be too hard to get a copy. Or check the MOT buy/sell board. I picked up Bighead and Header through there. BTW, Splatterspunk is hilarious!

Right enough, Rachaela. There is a signed and limited edition over there that I've made a bid on.

Crossing fingers and hoping the auction won't go on for years...
