I'm not typically a Lifetime network viewer, but when they add a supernatural drama, you know I will be checking it out.

I've only watched the first two episodes (DVR'd the third last night). I struggled with the first one, but the second episode picked up steam. I've noticed that when a new series deals with the supernatural and the main character doesn't believe initially, the show really lags until they can get past that.

Not that we needed another "someone solving a mystery using supernatural means" show, but I'm always glad to see the genre so well represented.

So far, between it and The Dresden Files, I'll go with the latter. Just a more well-rounded show at this point.

Ugh, I meant to check this out, and totally forgot it was about to air.

Of shows with this similar theme, mine is still SUPERNATURAL. To date, the best characterization, writing, and acting. Also, it's the most consistantly entertaining.

It doesn't appear to be an overly linear-type storyline and favors the "Monster of the Week" episodes, so you should be able to just jump right in. The episodes are available on my OnDemand through Comcast, so if you have that... Otherwise, I am sure Lifetime will air some sort of marathon in the future. The cable channels always do.

But no question, Supernatural still takes the cake. It's rating got a bump last week with the Battlestar Galactica guest star and they held this week, so hopefully that is a good sign for renewal. Of course, CSI isn't on for March Madness, so that may explain the increase in traffic. Rough hour to be on.

HBO and Showtime are both developing a couple of different horror shows as series. HBO alone has three vampire-related (including an adaptation of the Preacher) series in the works, which I suspect will be whittled down to one or two. I imagine they will all be appearing in the Fall... I hope.

I'm not so sure how I feel about the PREACHER series. I read teh comics about 2 years ago and didn't enjoy it nearly as much as others seem to. Perhaps I was just expecting something more Earth shattering.

The same goes for Charlaine Harris' southern vampire series, another one of the propossed shows. I enjoyed the first novel well enough to buy the next 4 or so. I lumbered through the second and put down the third about halfway. They really didn't seem to go anywhere. Depending on how closely HBO sticks to the books, a bit of vampire sex (well, just the sex) might be the only reason to tune in....but then HBO is just cashing in on the late-night pseudo-porn documentaries.

SUPERNATURAL should be back, but I fear the non-horror VERONICA MARS will get the axe. It appears that THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS are getting far better ratings in that timeslot.

Since I don't watch Lifetime that often, I'll have to keep checking the tv guide for a marathon. If the show is worth it, I'll stick around the entire day. that's how I got hooked on both RENO 911 and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.

I never read it unfortunately, but heard enough good things to be excited about the series. From what I understood, its epic-nature probably is a better fit for a series than the proposed movie that was in the works for years.

Again, I never read the books, but am really looking forward to this one for the simple reason that it is being put together by Alan Ball - He of American Beauty and Six Feet Under fame. I've always admired how his stories are so much about life, but based around the theme of death, that I am curious to see what he does with the undead.

I have read the two Dexter novels to date and really enjoyed them, but saw where they differed from the Showtime series. In fact, I saw that they are going to ignore the general plot of the second book, because it goes in a different direction than they want. It is pretty funny, because I was wondering how they would pull it off while reading the book and actually agree that it might be a bit too much. Still, I don't mind the differences.

I'm holding out hope for Supernatural. It is holding its core audience, which is good but hopefully that will be enough.

I started watching Veronica Mars at the start of its second season from word of mouth and got hooked. I'm curious as to what will happen with it. The scenarios I am hearing is that it will either be axed or come back with Veronica now an FBI agent. In fact, several of the co-stars have already signed on to new pilots, so I doubt it will return as is. I do have to admit though, that I haven't been as happy with it this season (or last year's finale). It just feels a little out of step like they are trying to find a new direction. Still some of the most wittiest dialogue out there though!

Oh, I miss Arrested Development... If I notice a marathon for Blood Ties, I'll let you know!
