Does anyone else recall the short films the USA channel used to show when they had a few minutes extra after a movie ended?

I recall a ventriloquist dummy (it terrified me much more than full-length films like Child's Play), a fisherman who found out what it was like to be on the other end of the hook, a British short about a hitchhiking killer, and one about vengeful mannequins. I'm sure there were others.

I also recall them showing an anthology of sorts that included some rather terrifying stories, although that might have been another channel.

Does anyone recall the names of any of these films, and do you know if they are available for purchase? I still find these 5 minutes chunks of film a lot more frightening than most so-called horror films today.

I remember these also Eric. My friend and I always talk about the ventriliquist dummy short. If I recall there was a scene where it was sitting on the toilet with it's pants down and it's legs dangling. Is the British hitchiker short the one where a young lady picks up an older and somewhat more masculine woman who is carrying a satchel. After getting the creeps she manages to trick the older lady into getting out of the car and speeds away stranding her only to have her boyfriend pick her up? I remember seeing this one on HBO or Showtime several times. The ending was really disturbing. As far as I know these are no where to be found on video but I will keep my eyes open. Good Luck.

That's the one I remember- there were British accents anyway.
I remember that scene with the dummy- that was one of several in that one that scared the hell out of me. I think the ending was the scariest..

I'm glad I'm not the only one that recalls them. Hopefully some company will get the rights to a bunch of the shorts and release them as a compilation.
