i hope someone remembers a TV movie or show from the late 70's possibly early 80's that scared me so much that I slept with my head under the covers for atleast a year. I would love to see it again. What I remember from it is: some sort of mud or clay monster that in one scene got his arm shopped off in a door in a house and a bag of salt(?) fell onto the crawling arm and the arm burst into flames. That gave the characters a way to kill the monster-after baiting the monster into a chase through the woods-they tripped him into the ocean and he burned-up. Doesn't sound too scary-- but it sure was when

Hey, Dr. Shawn comin' at ya' live and in person.

It's called "The Horror Of Party Beach", and it's an old 1960's horror film in B&W.

This very much sounds like the one.

They lured the creatures to the edge of an old river and threw balls of salt-based explosives at them while the creatures were trapped in the headlights of the police cars.

Also, the monsters looked like giant lizards with gills and a set of spines going down their backs.

If I remember too, they sounded like frogs when they growled, and there was one scene where a monster killed a bunch of girls at a slumber party, right?

If not, the film you saw COULD have been a remake, as these things suddenly appear from time to time, but this sounds like the film you're talking about, and the original one at that.

It played a lot on Creature Feature and Chiller theatre when I was a lad. Good movie.

Take care,
Shawn
