I follow the upfronts pretty closely for some unknown reason. I guess it fascinates me to know what is hot and what is not when it comes to TV. Fall looks like it might be interesting once again for the genre. Sometimes it is hard to tell exactly what a show will involve, whether it has a paranormal premise or not...

At any rate, I'm working on a list of all upcoming returning and new shows (including those cable shows that weren't apart of the upfronts) and here is what I came up with. Those with premiere dates are noted.

Hidden Palms (CW - 5/30) - Kevin Williamson show that looks like it has some supernatural elements to it.

Hex (BBC America - 6/2) - The second season of the show? I'm a little confused since I swear last year's run was something like ten episodes, while the typical British series runs six episodes.

Ghost Hunters (Sci-Fi - 6/6) - Picks up in the middle of the third season. Baffling as to why it was cut in half, but the show was renewed for the Fall as well.

Destination Truth (Sci-Fi - 6/6) - Follows Ghost Hunters and is a documentary/reality show that follows an investigator of the "unexplained" around the world.

The 4400 (USA - 6/17) - Fourth season. Good series about people who disappeared overtime returning to Earth with new powers.

The Dead Zone (USA - 6/17) - Back for its sixth season.

Haunting Evidence (Court TV - 6/20) - A paranormal team reviews cold cases to see if they can uncover new information.

Eureka (Sci-Fi - 7/10) - Hilarious sci-fi/fantasy show about a town of geniuses returns for its second season.

Dexter (Showtime - October) - Dexter will be back on in October on the network. Fantastic series.

True Blood (HBO - January, 2008) - New series by Six Feet Under's Alan Ball. Based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries books of Charlaine Harris. Date is tenative.

Fall 2007:
Heroes (NBC - Mondays at 9:00) - Second season.

Journeyman (NBC - Mon. 10:00) - New series about a man who can travel back and forth in time.

New Amsterdam (Fox - Tue. 8:00) - New series about an immortal detective in NYC. Moves to Fridays in January.

Reaper (CW - Tue. 9:00) - New series about a man who has to track down people who escaped from hell - ala Brimstone, but funnier.

Pushing Daisies (ABC - Wed. 8:00) - New series about a man who can bring the dead back to life with a touch.

Bionic Woman (NBC - Wed. 9:00) - Reinvention of the old series about a woman with technology-enhanced strength.

Smallville (CW - Thurs. 8:00) - Back again for more meteor freaks of the week.

Supernatural (CW - Thurs. 9:00) - Thankfully back for a third season!

Ghost Whisperer (CBS - Fri. 8:00) - Back for its third season.

Moonlight (CBS - Fri. 9:00) - New series about a vampire/private investigator.

Midseason/Spring:
Lost (ABC)
Medium (NBC - Sun. 9:00)
The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Fox - Sun. 9:00) - Based on The Terminator series.

Babylon Fields (???) - CBS ordered this pilot about zombies with Amber Tamblyn and the actor who played Pullo in HBO's Rome, but didn't include it in the upfronts. There is a good chance that it isn't completely dead yet though.

Demons (???) - Another CBS pilot that didn't get picked up that starred Lost's Harold Perrineau about exorcisms. No real sign of life here.

Masters of Horror (???) - The show is slated for a third season but it is unclear if it will air on Showtime or somewhere else completely.

I'm sure I'm missing some and will add them as they come to mind. At any rate, thoughts?

I suppose I should add John From Cincinatti to this list as well, since it certainly appears genre-based and being from David Milch, is bound to be more than a little dark at times. I'm not sure what quite to expect with it. I'll have to DVR the premiere though, since it follows the very last episode of The Sopranos and I will need that time to do a little mourning... Smile
