I'm looking for assistance. I'm trying to identify the 1960 TV horror/suspense series that included an episode based on Algernon Blackwood's story "The Wendigo". I remember watching the episode sometime around 1962 or 1963 - very scary. The story is basically about a small group of hunters in the Canadian woods. One of the guides is eventually overcome by the "spirit of the wilderness" and is transformed into a creature with fiery feet. Any help would be appreciated.
"The Wendigo" was an episode of the 'Great Ghost Tale' anthology series that aired from July 1961 through September 1961. This series aired on NBC and included 12 episodes. It is notable for being the last live broadcast television series. It is interesting that you say you saw it in 1962 or 1963 because web sources I have seen suggest that there are probabaly not any tapes of the series since it was originally broadcast live. If you are sure about the time, it would indicate that there are tapes.
