X Marks the Spot: On Location With The X-Files |

Overview by TheCabinet: The X-Files fans will rejoice with this book that is something of a tour of locations used in the first five seasons of the series from people in the know - the series's location managers. The book is arranged by the seasons and episodes of the series and even acts as something of an episode guide for The X-Files. However, mixed upon the episode synopses are the actual, major locations featured in that episode complete with address and a little behind-the-scenes report and story of the actual filming. Some episodes feature more locations than other, which is completely understandable. For those wonder whether the family's house from the controversial episode Home is included, the answer is... Yep. The only major downfall of this book is that it gives little information about a location beyond its role in the series, nor does it mention whether they are open to the general public. That said, if you are interested in going behind the scenes of The X-Files and seeing the creepy locales firsthand, this is the book for you.
