| Information |
Since 2005, Richmond, Virginia has been the site of an annual zombie walk.
Participants dress up as the flesh-eating cinematic version of the zombie as introduced in George Romero's 1968 film Night of the Living Dead rather than the original voodoo zombie. The participants then gather in an arranged meeting place and proceed in a form of parade that involves lurching rather than marching. The zombie walk eventually terminates at a predetermined location.
The Richmond Virginia Zombie Walk also features a zombie makeup workshop prior to the actual event. The event also includes a costume contest and volunteered "victims" for the zombies to attack during the course of the walk.
