Branson West Haunted Adventure Park
This haunted attraction is located a few miles outside Branson West, Missouri and has been entertaining visitors since 2004. The attraction is advertised as a "million-dollar world-class facility" and shares a complex with its sister-firm Predator World (Branson Interactive Zoo and Museum), which the haunt serves to raise funds for. The haunt utilizes a top-of-the-line sound system and special effects and is composed of 60 rooms that make up the four separate attractions. The creatures inside vary from animatronics to live actors, all with the intent of startling their guests. The production team works diligently to reinventing the haunt each year and even makes constant changes on a daily basis to keep repeat visitors on their toes.
The Attractions
All four attractions (a fifth opened in 2009) are interconnected and once guests finish with the first, they move on to the next until they are through. The first stop is the haunt's signature haunted house dubbed Cursed. The theme is a Victorian-style, Gothic mansion composed of over 40 rooms, crawling with its insane residents who were subjected to experimentation prior to being set loose by a fire. Those gruesome experiments took place in the haunt's next stop, Bio Hazard. Here, guests see the horrible effects of those experiments and perhaps a few that were possibly too successful. The next stop is into the catacombs of the Cemetery of the Dead where the insane are now resurrecting the dead. All forms of creatures line this maze that leads to an elaborate outdoor cemetery that offers little comfort itself. The final stop is into Terrorlusions - a combination of a massive hall of mirrors, lined with killer clowns, and a spinning vortex tunnel. The connecting zoo and aquarium get in on the act too, transforming into haunted attractions themselves.
Information
Branson West Haunted Adventure Park was originally run as a year-round attraction, but has recently changed models. During the Halloween season, the attraction runs as always with a full show with actors. In the off-season, there were no live actors and only the animatronics, special effects, and the atmosphere do the dirty work. Their schedule varies, so be sure to consult their site below for the current dates and hours of operation. |
