Universal Studios Hollywood
This theme park features rides with cinematic themes and FX. It also features tours of sets used in film and TV shows.
Halloween Horror Nights
Universal Studios hosts a Halloween Horror Nights event annually in October. The event features four haunted mazes; A Nightmare on Elm Street: Never Sleep Again, Friday the 13th: Kill, Jason, Kill, Saw: Game On, Vampyre: Castle of the Undead, and Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses: in 3-D Zombievision. The event also features a Terror Tram that transports visitors to locations around the park including the film sets used in Hitchcock's Psycho (see Universal Hollywood: Psycho House and Bates Motel). Universal sets up themed zones where visitors will find themselves walking around in a zombie apocalypse or the plaque-infested streets of medeival Europe, among other themes.
Revenge of the Mummy
Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor roller coaster featuring characters from Stephen Sommer's remake of The Mummy. The coaster goes both forward and backward during the course of the ride. The coaster uses electro-magnetic propulsion to move along its tracks. The ride also features the actual Book of the Dead prop used in the movie. It can be seen in the entrance for the coaster.
Jurassic Park - The Ride
Jurassic Park - The Ride is based on the Steven Speilberg adaption of Michael Crichton's book about dinosaurs brought into the modern world through cloning. The ride features animatronic dinosaurs menacing the audience and an 84 foot vertical drop down a waterfall for the climax. As part of the Halloween Horror Nights this ride is made darker than usual for an added thrill.
Terminator 2: 3D
This attraction features a mix of surround screen 3D projection, animatronics and live stunt actors to immerse the audience into the post-apocalyptic world of The Terminator.
Special Effects Stages
The park features shows where the audience can learn special effects techniques and see them demonstrated first hand.
Fear Factor Live
A live version of the Fear Factor show runs regularly at the park, allowing chosen guests to experience some of the same terrifying and disgusting trials that contestants on the show face.
