Information
Twilight
In the Twilight Saga novels by Stephenie Meyer, Bella Swan lives with her father Charlie in the city of Forks. The Forks Chamber of Commerce offers tours of local locations used in the books. When planning the tours, they needed to pick a couple of local buildings to stand in for the Swan's home and the home of the Cullen family. The homes in the book hadn't been based on actual locations.

Local educators Kim and David McIrvin volunteered their home on K Street to be the substitute for Bella's home. During tours a sign is placed out front declaring the house to be the home of the Swans. It is one of the few two-story Craftsman homes in the city. In a twist of fate, the house has similarities to the fictional inside as well as outside; there is a room that is painted blue and there are yellow cupboards just like in the book.

In the Twilight novels Isabella "Bella" Swan moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington to live with her father. Her dad, Charlie Swan, is the Chief of Police for the city. Upon attending the local high school, the 17 year old Bella meets Edward Cullen, a vampire who passes as a teenager despite being more than 100 years old and the two eventually fall in love.

Movie Adaptation
When it came time to bring the first novel, Twilight, to the screen, production company Summit Entertainment opted to film the movie in the Portland, Oregon-area instead of northwest Washington. Aside from similar settings, the state offered the producers certain financial incentives and tax rebates for money spent in the state. While filming commenced in various locations in northern Oregon, a private residence in the city of Saint Helens was specifically chosen to represent the home of Bella and Charlie Swan. Film publicist, Peter J. Silbermann spoke with the local newspaper, The South County Spotlight, during the production and said of the house, "It's just beautiful, it's very appropriate for the film."

The House Today
The McIrvin's home is a private residence. They have volunteered the exterior of their home for part of the guided tour, but the house is not open to the public. Please respect the privacy of the home owners and do not trespass.
