Payne Chapel Missionary Baptist Church
This small church outside Quito, Mississippi is one of three possible locations of the final resting spot of blues musician Robert Johnson. One story has famous blues player, Honeyboy Edwards, saying that Johnson's sister had him exhumed from his original resting spot and re-interred here. Another has a former girlfriend of Johnson's declaring that this was the place he was buried. Recent evidence seems to suggest that the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church to the north of Greenwood is actually the real grave. Much like Johnson's life, his own burial is cause for great confusion. A band named The Tombstones reportedly donated the headstone to this cemetery, based on the speculation that Johnson was buried here.
