Heath Ledger
Actor Heath Ledger died in an apartment that takes up the entire fourth floor of this apartment building on January 22, 2008. His body was discovered by a masseuse he had scheduled an appointment with and the housekeeper who let here in. Ledger apparently died of an overdose of sleeping pills. There was no suicide note and the death was declared to be an accidental overdose of prescription painkillers and antidepressants.
Heath had starred in the horror film The Order in 2003. He also played a lead role in the 2005 Terry Gilliam darkly comic fantasy The Brothers Grimm. Shortly before his death he had completed work on the Batman film The Dark Knight (2008) in which he played Batman's arch-nemesis, The Joker. At the time of his death he had begun work on a new Terry Gilliam film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
