The Falstaff's Experience, Stratford-Upon-Avon
In the heart of quaint old Stratford-Upon-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare in England, this large haunted museum is set along the ancient cobblestones, in the timber-framed, 500-year-old Shrieve's House Hall. With daily reported ghostly sightings, it is not surprising it has been cited as "the most haunted building in England" (author Terry Deary) and "the most unique and haunted in the world" (author Fiona Broome).
With almost 1000 years of history which includes fire, plague, civil war, murder and witchcraft (still practised today in the Witches Courtyard), the energy of this ancient property is enormous. Daily ghost tours of the building and midnight vigils at the weekend with renowned mediums are regular events.
An email from someone who had only been on one of our guest tours reads:
"We partook in your 9pm ghost tour last night and then I came back the next day because my man was totally freaked out by the experience. He had some very overwhelming feelings and reactions whilst on the property and I would like to find some literature that helps him discover what caused them. The sensation of being pulled/pushed down to the extent that he had a bad back, palpatations, giddiness to the point of nearly collapsing and sweating palms. He was also touched on the stairs, so I think he's just very in tune and suseptable to spirits but he's a sceptic, trying to blame it on lay-lines". Michelle J |
