Information
First Beach
First Beach is a crescent-shaped sandy beach that stretches for approximately a mile along the Washington coastline. The beach lies in the unincorporated community of La Push (see La Push, Washington). The location is popular for whale watching, surfing and for its connections to the Twilight series by author Stephenie Meyer.

In the first book in the series, Twilight, Bella Swan first visits First Beach with would-be suitor Mike Newton and his friends. It is here at the beach that she meets up with Jacob Black, a Quileute Native American who she played with as a child, during visits to her father's home. It is through Jacob that Bella begins to discover the true nature of Edward Cullen and his family. Jacob tells her that there are stories of his tribe making a treaty many decades earlier with the Cullen family, who they referred to as the "cold ones." Bella and Jacob spend alot of time together on First Beach throughout the series of novels.

The beach is included among the stops along the Twilight Tours offered by the Forks Chamber of Commerce (see Forks Chamber of Commerce Twilight Tours).

Film Adaptation
First Beach was initially slated to appear in the 2008 film adaptation of Twilight, however it was deemed to be too far away from the primary filming locations in and around Portland, Oregon. Due to the limited filming schedule, the production team opted to instead use Indian Beach at the Ecola State Park (see Indian Beach, Ecola State Park under Movie Locations) near Cannon Beach, Oregon to double as First Beach in the movie.
