Fear at South Town
Fear at South Town is owned by Lebeau Productions, creators of the Fear at Frontier haunted attraction (see
Frontier Field / Fear at Frontier
. It was created due to such a high turn out for Fear at Frontier over the years previous. Fear at South Town is located in Henrietta, near Rochester, New York (see
Rochester, New York
). This is an indoor location, while even though Fear at Frontier is covered by the concrete stadium seats, it is outdoors. Therefore Fear at South Town is a bit warmer, and easier to wait in lines.
Fear at South Town has four houses just like Fear at Frontier. The houses consist of perilous corridors and laughter of the undead. Watch out for the ones who are doomed to remain in between those walls, they will leach onto anyone who gives them a chance. There are greeters at the doors to warn all those who enter with the same rules as Fear at Frontier. They also have food and refreshments located in the back of the location, and have a few tables and chairs set up for comfort.
The Scream Theatre
The first house is called The Scream Theatre. From every ghoulish corner of the earth, there have been horror movies and then there have been HORROR movies. You know the ones, they make you crawl up in your bed, hide behind the couch, or scream bloody murder in the safety of your own home. Now you can come to our home, the Scream Theatre, and witness the fear with everyone else as you watch the screen knowing that they really aren't real. Or are they? As you watch the screen intently, you feel that familiar tingle on the back of your neck; but when you go brush it away, you find that it isn't just a feeling. It is more, much more. You turn in fear as your mind tells you it isn't real, but your eyes reveal the truth. You find you have no choice but to run out screaming as your sanity is quickly removed from your mind.
Before you find your seat, experience the Movie Monster Museum and see actual pieces from some of your favorite horror movies of all time. Then test your trivia knowledge as you knock your brain into remembering all those things that you were scared of as a child, or made you back into a child! The knowledge haunts your mind as you carry never-ending thought of terror forever in your head.
Terror of the Seas
The second house is called Terror of the Seas in 3D. This house is rare among the others because you are told to wear 3D glasses while walking through the house. So, you think you yearn to be a pirate, do ya matey?! Then cast off and join our crew if you dare. Life at seas isn't what you think it might be. The tales told to you are nothing compared to what it is really like.
Oh, there's gold to be made but at what cost?! The sea is a harsh place to be; for many lives are rewarding as a pirate, but many more are lost to the sea. If you think that the storms are the only things to worry you, you are vastly wrong, my friend. There are more things unknown to man that no one will talk about, as they are sworn to secrecy to spare their measly little lives. Be careful where you tread when you enter, or you may end up in Davey Jone's locker before you know it. This ain't no tall fish tale I'm telling you, to enter into the lifestyle of a pirate may be the last thing you ever do. Many a pirate had to pay the price; those who lost their lives to the sea were the lucky ones, there are many other things far worse that death for a pirate.
Now, just sit back and I'll tell you a tale, a tale of a fateful trip that started from a tropic port, with just a tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailing man, the skipper brave and sure. Those pirates had just set sail that day, for that sure-fired contact of treasure. Before they could do anything, weather started getting rough and their tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Phantom Runner would be lost. The ship struck ground on the shore of an uncharted desert isle, with a bottle of Gillian, some rum was there too, a million in gold and some one's wife. They watched the stars, and prayed to god that they wouldn't die here on Dead Man's Isle.
Dr. Nightmare's Asylum
The third house is called Dr. Nightmare's Asylum. Having his license revoked from ever practicing medicine again, Dr. Nightmare has reopened his asylum at Fright World, performing obscene experiments on his patients. Once a renowned psychologist, Dr. Nightmare's exemplary record for recovering the insane was unheard of by normal standards. From shock treatment to isolation, the methods used by the doctor are horrific at best. His extreme measured would either cure or kill his victims, er, patients. Because of the sheer number of "missing" individuals from his practice, it was discovered that the doctor wasn't doing as well as everyone had thought.
This year, Fright World has come up with a unique way for you and your friends to tour his facility, on your own! See for yourself how Dr. Nightmare "treats" his patients! Witness first hand the intense psychological therapy used to cure the insane, and sometimes the criminally insane. But be careful, the good doctor always has room for more!
Castle of Fear
The fourth and final house is called Castle of Fear. Enter the castle of the undead, a living crypt for those who could never leave this world. What horrific ghouls reside in this place? Feel their spirits roam near you as you traverse this living nightmare. As you walk past their semi-decomposed bodies, you can't help but wonder, are they really dead, or did they never really die? A hex placed upon this fortress by and evil sorcerer long ago prevents these creatures from ever leaving this world until every person who enters, screams their last breath, and remains spellbound in here forever. For hundreds of years, many brave souls have entered and have been trapped in these walls; their cries can still be heard if you listen. Can you be the one to break this curse to come out alive? You only escape is to find your way out of the cemetery and run past every monster around every corner, with your lives still intact. But don't worry, we always have a special place just for you.
