The Edge of Hell
Established in 1975, this long-running Halloween haunted attraction can boast to being the oldest Halloween haunt in the Kansas City, Missouri area. The Edge of Hell is run by Full Moon Productions, who also run several other haunted attractions throughout the Kansas City area, such as the popular, The Beast (see The Beast). The haunt takes up five complete stories and has made it its habit to reinvent itself each year so that returning guests have a new experience.
The attraction takes its visitors through a 30-minute, quarter mile walkthrough of dimly lit corridors, crawling with over 45 live actors and a host of animatronics. Included in the adventure is a walk over an authentic swinging rope bridge, a visit to Purgatory, a walk through a graveyard, and even a visit to Dracula's living room. Guests might even be surprised, and perhaps a bit dismayed, to find out that the 24-foot, 300-pound reticulated python is not simply a prop, but the real thing. Believe it or not, the snake is not the only live creature that occupies the various haunts from Full Moon Productions.
