Information
Phantasm
This historic mansion in Oakland, California was used as the exterior of the Tall Man's mausoleum in the 1979 horror film, Phantasm. Built by a coal baron at the end of the 19th century, the mansion and grounds are now maintained and operated by a non-profit group. Tours are available to the public. Wedding ceremonies can also be arranged on the property, if you should wish to get hitched in front of the Tall Man's home.

Burnt Offerings
The Dunsmuir House & Gardens also served as the primary filming location for the 1976 Dan Curtis horror film Burnt Offerings. In that film the house is alive and rejuvenates itself by killing the families that live there.

The Vineyard
The Vineyard (1989), a horror film about a 500 year old man who lives off of the life essence of young people, used the mansion for a filming location.

So I Married an Axe Murderer
The 1993 comedy film So I Married an Axe Murderer, starring comedian Mike Myers, had its conclusion shot at the Dunsmuir House.

The mansion was also used a filming location for the films A View to a Kill (1985), Gloria (1999) and True Crime (1999).
