The House in the Woods
Inside these woods is the remains of the house that was used in the final scenes of The Blair Witch Project. According to directions provided by BlairWitch.net (see below), you will want to park your car on Hernwood Road (to the left on the map) and find the path on the right side of the armory (facing the armory with your back to Hernwood). Keeping the fence to your left, follow this path over a hill and up another and the remains should be visible to your left. The house was in a fairly delapitated state when the film was shot and vandalism eroded it further after the film was released. There was an effort to save the house and it appeared to work for a short time, but it reportedly has been torn down since.
Use Caution
Please be aware that The Blair Witch Project brought a lot of notoriety to this and several other locations. With that notoriety came a lot of tourists and vandalism to several of the key locations. If you want to visit this location, please be respectful of the location and the people who live nearby. It really isn't too much to ask and any acts of vandalism will only taint the location for future visitors.
