Bricktown Haunted Warehouse
This Halloween haunted attraction has been a tradition in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for over twenty years. The haunt is located in what used to be the site of the original city that was later transformed into a major warehouse district. However, times were rough on the area and most businesses moved out. It would not be until the 1980s that the area would see the start of a revival that would lead it to the growing entertainment district it is today.

The Bricktown Haunted Warehouse was a major force in showing what the area could one day be. It got its start back in 1984 when entrepreneur Jim Brewer saw the potential of the area and toured some of the properties. The abandoned buildings reminded Brewer of a haunted house and the idea was born. Seeking an opportunity, Brewer paid the total of one dollar to lease the former-Hunzicker Electric building and went to work. His efforts paid off in its first season when the haunt attracted an estimated 18,000 visitors and turned into an $86,000 profit. The amazing success laid the cornerstones for what would become an annual Halloween tradition and sparked the urban revival of the area.

Over the years, the Bricktown Haunted Warehouse has continued to expand and reinvent itself. It is best known for the elaborate themed-illusions found inside, but also relies heavily on its detailed sets and scenes, along with talented actors to provide the chills. It reportedly averages over 1,000 visitors a night with lines that can last as long as two hours. In 2005, the attraction further expanded with the Haunted 3D Dungeon that is a combination of a dark amusement style ride with traditional haunt scenes.

The Attraction
Visitors to the Bricktown Haunted Warehouse will find a haunt that is three stories high and combines traditional haunted house elements with finely detailed illusions. Some of the highlights include a rotating black hole that is sure to induce vertigo, as well as a room that seems to go on indefinitely, a crocodile swamp, and angled mazes of crooked hallways and floors. In addition, there is the Haunted 3D Dungeon ride that is separate from the other attraction, but takes its guests on a journey through countless horrific scenes with more scares just around the corner.
