Information
The Werewolves of Besancon
In 1521, Pierre Bourgot and Michel Verdung were captured after a string of gruesome murders. Both men confessed to being werewolves and having eaten the flesh of their victims. Supposedly they had become werewolves from participation in a satanic ritual. It is said that Michel was even in wolf form when the men were captured. After confessing their crimes, the men were executed.
