Haunted Hollow
This annual Halloween attraction is located in Ogden, Utah and has been in operation since 2000. It is an outdoor haunted trails-type attraction that leads you through a 13-acre spooky forest, complete with swamps, caves, abandoned mine shafts, shacks, dungeons and plenty of ghosts and monsters. Haunted Hollow is the brainchild of Tombstone Entertainment, who also put on the Halloween haunt, Haunted Forest (see Haunted Forest, American Fork, UT), in American Fork to the south.
The Attraction
The legend follows an old hermit by the name of Mangus Hurlbut, who once lived on the property and was once known as "The Hermit of Ghost Hollow." He was known to befriend people and play them his harmonica (typically playing "Oh Suzanna") around the campfire. However, if anyone ever attempted to leave, he would stop him or her for good. He disappeared one day and was never seen again. However, the story goes that some still hear his harmonica out there, usually around the same time that someone mysteriously disappears.
