The Manson Murders
The Spahn Ranch was used as a home for Charles Manson's followers for a time. Manson secured use of the property by prostituting Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme to ranch owner, George Spahn. The ranch had once belonged to actor, William S. Hart. The ranch has been used as a set for films and TV shows, from Wanda, the Sadistic Hypnotist to episodes of Bonanza.
The Manson Family was located here at Spahn Ranch at the time of the Tate and LaBianca murders. Following the notoriety of the two crimes, the Manson family relocated on to the Myers and Barker Ranches in Death Valley National Park. In 2008, researchers discovered what could potentially be the graves of further Manson Family victims at those ranches.
