Information
The Location
Timberline Lodge is located on Mt. Hood in Oregon.  It was used for the exterior shots of the "Overlook Hotel" in Stanley Kubrick's 1980 adaptation of the Stephen King novel, The Shining.  As you can see, the topiary maze that appeared in the film is not on the property of Timberline.  It never has been, but was added into the film later with the use of movie magic.  All the interior shots of the hotel featured in the film were shot in a studio in England.

Timberline is a popular ski resort for the area and brings in countless tourists each year.  For more information about the Lodge, please visit their official website.
