The Oakley Court
Built in 1859 for the High Sheriff of Berkshire, this mansion was used for multiple films from the 1950s through the 1970s. Its use in numerous films was the result of Bray Studios being located right alongside the property during a period where the mansion was unoccupied. Bray Studios continues to operate in the same location to this day. Oakley Court was used for Hammer horror movies as well as being used as the exterior of Dr. Frankenfurter's castle in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
In 1981 the mansion was converted into a hotel and has remained as such since.
