Information
Hell on Earth
The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum in Poland is an educational tour of two of the three Auschwitz death camps. The third camp no longer exists. Jointly the three camps formed the largest Nazi concentration camp of World War II. From 1940 to 1945 Auschwitz was a prison for millions of people and execution site for approximately one and a half million of the prisoners.

The majority of the prisoners were victims of the Nazis' attempted genocide of the Jews. Also among the multitude of victims were also Gypsies, Catholics and others the Nazi's sought to eliminate. Innocent people were mass exterminated through gas chambers, firing squad, starvation, horrific "science" experiments and the general inhuman treatment of the prisoners.

Tours
Today there are free tours available of the remaining Auschwitz sites. The museum insists that guests locate one of the many tour guides during their visit. The guides provided cover a broad spectrum of languages and international visitors are welcome. Photography is not allowed inside the museum sites.
