The Martha Washington Inn
This hotel is said to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman named Beth. At one point in time, the hotel charged extra for a stay in room 403 in which the ghost frequently manifests. At points the hotel has been a private residence, a college for women, and a training ground and hospital for soldiers during the American Civil War. There is a spot on the floor where it is claimed that the blood spilled by wounded soldiers still leaches up from the floor and through the carpeting, ruining it.
