Dark tourist destinations in the news include haunted Oxford, more Haunted Baseball, the Stronsay Beast, Florida's unusual wildlife, a new business in England's Evesham, and the ghosts of Minnesota, Arizona's Yuma, and central Illinois. Haunted Oxford probe launched
Oxford Mail reports that a ten-day "ghost festival" at the Oxford Castle that will feature "ghost walks, ghost hunts, a spooky Christmas fair, mediumship demonstrations, psychic workshops" and even investigate claims of the paranormal in the surrounding Oxford, England area.
UCI ‘Haunted’ Tunnels Mentioned in Campus Ghost-lore Study
After touring the haunted college campuses of the United States over countless articles the last couple weeks, it makes sense that someone would have written a book on the subject. This article from New University Online has a quick blurb (towards the bottom of the page) of the new book, Haunted Halls: Ghostlore of American College Campuses by Elizabeth Tucker and its inclusion of the "haunted" tunnels under the campus of the University of California, Irvine.
Ghosts and Fenway: America's Halloween Obsessions
An apparent press release on PR-USA.net that further details the stories and legends of the new book, Haunted Baseball: Ghosts, Curses, Legends & Eerie Events by Mickey Bradley and Dan Gordon that explores the ghostly tales of the Major League.
Orkney beast 'similar to Nessie'
BBC News has this article on a strange creature that washed up on the shores of Orkney Islands in northern Scotland 200 years ago and a geneticist's comparisons between the corpse, which has been dubbed the Stronsay Beast, and the descriptions of the Loch Ness Monster by those who claim to have seen it.
Ghost hunter talks about haunted Minn.
In-Forum has this write-up about the upcoming appearance of ghost hunter, Chad Lewis, at the Minnesota State University Moorhead where he will discuss the ghost stories of Minnesota.

An article from the Daytona Beach News-Journal takes a look at the new book Florida's Unexpected Wildlife: Exotic Species, Living Fossils, and Mythical Beasts in the Sunshine State by Michael Newton, which explores such odd animal tales as a giant octopus that washed ashore in 1896, "Old Three Toes," and naturally, the Skunk Ape.

Herald & Review has this interview with Bill Gorman, author of the book, Ghost Whispers: Tales from Haunted Midway, which explores the ghost stories of central Illinois.
Ghost tours of Evesham
A write-up from the Evesham Journal highlights the new Spiritus business in Evesham, England that offers "tarot cards, crystals, pagan Christmas cards as well as providing readings, treatments for spiritual ailments and ghost tours around the town."
