Dark tourism destinations in the news includes Jenna Bush's haunting White House encounters, haunted hotels, Bigfoot, New Orleans, NASA UFO lawsuit, a Halloween haunt wedding, haunted locations worldwide, and plenty of ghost walks and Halloween attractions.  I decided to avoid the Halloween listings from here on out to salvage my own sanity as well as yours and instead focused on articles that featured particular destinations.  These articles appeared today in newspapers and magazines around the world and are featured here as a companion to our Dark Destinations.  As always, if you notice an article we missed, please send it to us using the link on the bottom of the page.

Spooks On The Hill
An article from the National Journal recounts how President George W. Bush's daughter, Jenna, recently told the Texas Monthly about her ghostly encounters in The White House.  Also, Dennis Kucinich + aliens = how can you pass this one up?

Famous Haunted Hotels
WTVM reports on the most famous hotels around the world known for their hauntings and ghosts.  The article includes a slideshow that features the likes of the Hotel del Coronado, the Lizzie Borden B & B, The Stanley Hotel, The Crescent Hotel, and many more.

Internet shifts perspective of 'Bigfootage'
An article from Lawrence Journal World takes a new look at a digital-enhancement of the 1967 Patterson/Gimlin footage purported to show Bigfoot or a Sasquatch-like creature in the Six Rivers National Forest near Willow Creek, California.  Unknown primate or man in a monkey suit?  You decide.

EXTRA: Limbo on Ghosts at the Lodge
Las Cruces Sun-News reports on the reportedly haunted The Lodge Resort and Spa in Cloudcroft, New Mexico - believed to be haunted by a ghost named Rebecca.

New Orleans a Halloween destination
San Antonio Express reports on the popularity of New Orleans, Louisiana this time of year, as well as its haunted attractions and ghost walks/hunts.

Dr. Larry Montz's Top 10 Haunted Sites in New Orleans
Taking it one step further, this article from San Antonio Express lists the top ten haunted sites of New Orleans, including Brennan's Restaurant, Le Pavillon Hotel, Bourbon Orleans Hotel, and more.

NASA to Search Files on UFO Incident
The Associated Press reports that NASA has finally agreed to search their archives for more information regarding an unidentified flying object reportedly crashing in the woods near Kecksburg, Pennsylvania in 1965 after pressure from a lawsuit.  Sadly, this incident does not involve Dennis Kucinich.

Hunting down the haunted
The Shield takes a look at the reports of hauntings in and around Evansville, Indiana and includes a stop at its most famous attraction, The Willard Library - Home to a reported spirit known as Lady in Grey.

Knock, knock
Niagarathisweek.com visits the reportedly haunted tomb of Samuel Hopkins at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wainfleet in the province of Ontario, Canada.

Haunting times at Roselawn Centre
Niagarathisweek.com also has this feature on the Roselawn Centre in nearby Port Colborne, which is believed to be the home of four ghosts.

Ghost and goblins haunt local eatery
The Trail Blazer features this write-up on the allegedly haunted Mr. Gatti's restaurant in Morehead, Kentucky.

Ghost busted?
An article from the Chicago Sun-Times explores the ghostly legend of Inez Clarke, who many believe to haunt Graceland Cemetery in Uptown, Illinois and come from all over to see her - Only problem is that recent research reveals no one by that name was buried there or might have ever existed.

A&M-CC alums tell Texas-sized ghost story
An article from the Corpus Christi Caller Times reports on the upcoming film, The Wild Man of the Navidad, which is reportedly based on an eyewitness encounters of a Bigfoot-like creature around the Navidad River in Southeast Texas.

In search of the paranormal
The Advertiser-News has this report on the reportedly haunted Munson Homestead in Franklin, New Jersey and profiles a local ghost hunting group.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Red Lion Pub in Chicago, Illinois, that is rumored to be the home of several ghosts, is being demolished and replaced by a new building.  Fortunately, they expect the ghosts to stick around.

An article from the New York Post lists the top 10 most haunted sites in New York City, New York; including the Chelsea Hotel where the spirit of the Sex Pistols' Sid Vicious is believed to reside.

The Winchester Star has this write-up on the new book, Historic Haunts of Winchester, A ghostly trip through the past, from author Mac Rutherford that explores the ghost legends of Winchester, Virginia.
