Jersey Devil: Big, bad, here An article for the Courier-Post looks at the legend of the Jersey Devil that is believed to live in the Pine Barrens in New Jersey.  The creature is the subject of an upcoming book from Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman, the authors of Weird U.S., as part of a series of books for children titled, The Weird Club. Small Missouri town is magnet for bizarre crimes CNN has this article on the town of Skidmore, Missouri, which is notable for its high number of violent crimes in relation to its population of around 350. Monster disaster Highland News reports that environmentalists are up-in-arms over the recent 55,000-balloon Loch Ness Monster built by The Calman Trust.  Problems arose during the launch of the balloons when a strong gust of wind broke the display in two and into the shores of Loch Ness, Scotland. Trick-or-treat among the creatures at Riverbanks Zoo The Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina is gearing up for their fifth annual Boo at the Zoo, according to this report from the Aiken Standard.
