I'm really into ghosts and hauntings. I have been since I was a kid and I've done alot of research on the subject. Of course I'm also a big Ghost Hunter fan and would love to have the chance to investigate with TAPS someday. Actually I would like the chance to go on a paranormal investigation with anyone someday. I give alot of credit to the legit groups like TAPS that are out there trying to give the field some credibility. As for the skeptics out there, I'll be honest if you take the time and look at some of the evidence and read some of the material that is available on the subject it is very difficult to completely dismiss the possible existence of ghosts or spirits. Anyways this is my first blog on the cabinet but I wanted to say that I live in Iowa and there doesn't seem to be any paranormal groups around my neck of the woods but I do like to crawl around on the internet often and see what other groups are out there and what there up to. I recently found a site by a group that goes by the name of Toledo Haunted Occurrences Research or T.H.O.R. for short and although it might not have as much substance as some other sites I've run across, I have to admit they have one of the slicker looking sites I've seen. They've even gotten some press by a local paper. They have a song on their home page that I don't recognize but I think is quite good. If anyone knows who it's by would you let me know. The site has an almost t.v. show type feel to it. I don't know if there are any networks who are looking for ghost hunting teams to make a show about; but this team seems to have a style that might go over well on t.v.. Here is the link if you want to check it out href="http://www.toledohauntedoccurrencesresearch.com"> I hope I did that right. If not you can probably google it. Anyways, I just thought they had a really cool web site and I thought I'd give them some props for it standing out from the crowd. Check it out and see what you think and don't forget to tell me the name of that song if you know it. And just by the chance that any of the members from T.H.O.R ever read this blog. If you guys ever line up an investigation in Iowa could you give me call. I even know of some places you could check out by me.

Call PSI of Oregon-check out their myspace profile-they can put you in touch with paranormal researchers in your area. They have a nationwide network. they are very helpful in areas of educating new paranormal researchers and mentoring them. Good luck in your endeavors.

Hey Ross,

Sorry, I had a eye appointment yesterday and got all sorts of eyedrops that made working of the computer slightly difficult the rest of the day.

To answer your question - No expectations whatsoever. If you want to participate, that would be great. If not, that's fine too. It would be just a forum/message board to talk about... whatever. Everything you mentioned, plus whatever else crosses anyone's mind.

Basically like our other forums, but more geared towards the "general" side of horror and/or paranormal or whatever. Take a look at our movie board for a good example -

Hello????

So, it would be kind of a 'How to...' type of area? What would your expectations be of us, then (sharing thoughts, ideas, maybe a little technique, or even maybe some constructive criticism, or maybe help out those interested in forming their own group by relating what all we did to get started)? And, if so, how often would you want us to comment (i.e. once a week, a day, couple times a week, etc......)?

And from the 'stories' aspect of it, maybe relate some of the legends and/or stories from our area??

Hey Ross,

I think I wasn't clear in my note. While I would be more than thrilled with any contributions you could make for Dark Destinations, what I meant was that I have been considering starting an average forum specifically for these types of discussions (which may or may not tie into actual locations you would find on Dark Destinations).

For example, I am curious about investigative techniques, experiences, and/or random thoughts about the paranormal or specific stories and legends. Just a forum to talk over these types of topics, rather than on a comments section for a blog, like in the Lit, Movies, Music and Television sections of this site. Would that be of interest?

Best,
-Casey
